WoW Mounts: A Pain in the Underbelly
My last PvP throes were way back in Mists of Pandaria and I certainly haven’t had the itch to be competitive in WoW for a very long time. I’ve got Overwatch, Dota 2, and Guilty Gear to hone my competitive edge in, so I really don’t feel the need to git gud in World of Warcraft. With that said, it’s pretty obvious that I play WoW to enjoy the gear progression aspect that it has perfect in PvE throughout the years of its existence and nothing more. So imagine my annoyance when I found out that, to get the Brinedeep Bottom-Feeder, one of the few underwater WoW mounts available in Legion, I’d have to go down to the Dalaran Underbelly.
Well, I don’t really NEED to go down to the Underbelly to be able to do my thing for the mount. But the idea of almost getting forced to do PvP content for something entirely PvE-focused in my mind is horrible. I play WoW to chill out; away from the tough tumbling of competition in the games I previously mentioned. Whenever I burn out on competitive gaming, I just want to go play a game where I don’t have to worry about that kind of crap. Unfortunately, Blizzard keeps trying to shove PvP down our throats, even for PvE-oriented WoW mounts at times, apparently.
Stop Making Me PvP for QoL WoW Mounts, Blizzard
Again, at least for the Brinedeep Bottom-Feeder, I don’t really need to go into the slaughterhouse that is the Dalaran Underbelly. But I’ve only been playing Legion for a few days at the time of this writing and who knows what else will send me down there, fearing for my non-PvPing life. I think it’s simply bad design on Blizzard’s part to mix PvE and PvP content, similar to what they did in Vanilla and Burning Crusade, and something they continued in the Legendary Cloak quest back in Mists of Pandaria. While they kind of learned their lesson in Warlords of Draenor, the idea come back again in Legion. I really do hope Blizzard will stop with this nonsense so that I can get my PvE WoW mounts in peace.
