Upgrading Your WoW Account: Firelands Part 3
Now that you’ve dealt with Alysrazor, it’s time to head for some of the less lucrative, but necessary bosses in order to gain access to Ragnaros. Don’t get me wrong; there are still some important achievements needed for the mount achievement to improve your WoW account value. Since you’re already near there, head for the foot of the volcano near the entrance of Alysrazor’s abode. Molten rocks and other aoes will be falling down on you as you make your way up. At the very top, you need to chase down and kill a mini-boss and some of its adds. Take them down quickly because they can rack up the damage on you through sheer numbers and all their dots stack.
WoW Account: Lord Rhyolith
At the very end of the path is the next boss, Lord Rhyolith. This massive behemoth isn’t as simple as Alysrazor. There are two phases in this fight: the driving phase and the tank-and-spank phase. The first phase, also known as the driving phase, requires you to control Lord Rhyolith’s direction by attacking his left foot to go left and his right foot to go right. It’s simple enough phase except for a few things.
Lord Rhyolith starts off with 80 armor stacks that you have to reduce in order to get to the next phase. These armor stacks will only be removed whenever Lord Rhyolith steps on an ACTIVE volcano. These small volcanoes will spawn randomly throughout the fight and only the active ones (the ones spouting out lava) will count in reducing his armor stacks. This fight may be difficult to solo if your spec or class isn’t one that specializes on quick switching and burst damage due to the difficulty in switching between his two legs.
You must also keep in mind that he should never, ever step on the lava ring that surrounds the arena you are fighting in. If he does step in it, he gets super buffed and may be able to kill a geared level 100 character. Just make sure that he steers clear from the lava and that he step on the active volcanoes as soon as they spawn or become active.
WoW Account: Glory of the Firelands Raider
Keep in mind that the achievement for the Glory of the Firelands Raider meta-achievement here is to NEVER letting him turn left during the first phase. This makes the encounter much harder than it is because you only have one direction (lol) that you can reliably make him go to. Going for this achievement is a bit of a pain if you can’t drive Lord Rhyolith properly.
But once you arrive in the last phase, the second one, just go nuts. You’ll know when you’ve reached the final phase when all his rock armor fall off his body and then becomes nothing more than a large lava man. He’ll fall on his bottom and get up quickly. Dps him down to your heart’s content and you are done with him. He doesn’t drop anything interesting other than transmog that you could possibly want for your character. The best thing you can get out from him is the aforementioned achievement. This will certainly upgrade your WoW account powerfully.
